Composto da Ermanno Novali al piano, Luca Pissavini al contrabbasso e Matteo Milesi alla batteria, è un progetto di musica originale tra scrittura e improvvisazione estemporanea. Il suono del trio è caratterizzato dalla fusione del jazz afroamericano “[…. dal] tocco europeo che gli rende l’unicità della forma”(da “Corriere della Sera” del 23/10/2013) con suggestioni musicali come il rock o il progressive, che rappresentano il background dei componenti del trio, appartenenti a una generazione che ama fondere e confondere i linguaggi musicali. L’improvvisazione che tende verso la sperimentazione non si ferma davanti alla struttura, ma ogni volta si arricchisce di sfumature e scelte musicali impreviste che definiscono l’originalità dello sviluppo dei brani con la fondamentale sinergia tra i tre musicisti che sono in continuo dialogo. Il trio vanta partecipazioni a festival di alto rilievo come Bergamo Jazz 2019, occasione in cui è stato invitato ad aprire a Tingvall Trio.
Il primo album “Passacaglia” è pubblicato nel 2018 da Emme Record Label e contiene brani a firma di Ermanno Novali e Matteo Milesi, oltre alla rilettura di “The Boxer” di Simon & Garfunkel e dello standard “Dear Old Stockholm”.
Composed by Ermanno Novali on piano, Luca Pissavini on double bass and Matteo Milesi on drums, this is an original music project between writing and improvisation. The sound of the trio is characterized by the fusion of African American jazz “[…. with the] European touch that makes it the uniqueness of the form “(from” Corriere della Sera “of 23/10/2013) with musical suggestions such as rock or progressive, which represent the background of the members of the trio, belonging to a generation who loves to blend and mix musical languages. Improvisation that tends towards experimentation does not stop in front of the structure, but is enriched each time with unexpected nuances and musical choices that define the originality of the development of the pieces with the fundamental synergy between the three musicians who are in continuous dialogue. The trio boasts participation in high-profile festivals such as Bergamo Jazz 2019, the occasion in which it was invited to open at Tingvall Trio.
